Advanced One Class will be challenging, as it lays the foundation for advanced skill development. In this class, the instructor focuses on training students to recognize cutting and polishing issues, understand how to correct them, and develop a trained eye for identifying surface problems. Emphasis is also placed on building precise communication skills for referencing cutting and polishing positions. Attendees will apply the skills learned in the Basic and Intermediate classes, beginning to cut gemstones independently with slight guidance from the instructor. They will understand and perform all cutting sequences and learn how to document the cutting progress. The class will focus on transfer problems, polishing situations, adjusting angles, and refining initial dopping and transfer dopping skills. Prerequisite is successful completion of Basic and Intermediate class.
